1. Service, operator and acceptance
ThinQa provides AI-assisted exploration, design conversations, reports, images and prototype-generation workflows. ThinQa is a project under development and is not an incorporated company. These terms are offered by the project team in its own capacity, not on behalf of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) or the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI). HBKU and QEERI are not parties to these terms, and these terms do not appoint either institution as service operator, data controller, provider or guarantor. References to a team member’s institutional affiliation are descriptive only and do not represent institutional endorsement, sponsorship or authorization. The project team does not undertake obligations or give warranties on behalf of either institution. Nothing here excludes responsibility imposed by applicable law or changes who actually determines personal-data processing.
New users accept the Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy after signing in to complete registration. Existing accounts can sign in without repeating this step. We record the policy version and acceptance time. Optional analytics, promotional emails, research reuse and publication are separate choices and are not authorized by accepting these terms.
2. Eligibility and accounts
The AI service is for adults aged 18 or older using it for professional, research and prototyping purposes. You must confirm adult eligibility. Do not provide children’s data or use this service to deliver a child-directed AI experience. An educational role does not remove these restrictions.
Provide accurate account information, protect sign-in credentials and use only accounts you are authorized to control. If acting for an organization, you must have authority to submit its information and request processing. Notify hello@thin.qa of suspected unauthorized access.
3. Inputs, outputs and intellectual property
You retain rights you hold in your submitted content. You give ThinQa and its service providers permission to store, transmit and process that content only as needed to deliver your requested service and operate it lawfully, as explained in the Privacy Policy. You must have the rights and permissions needed for your submissions.
Subject to applicable law and third-party rights, ThinQa permits you to inspect, download, modify and fabricate outputs supplied to your account for your authorized projects. This permission does not transfer ownership of platform software, third-party materials, patents or trademarks. These terms neither assign rights to HBKU or QEERI nor represent permission to use their names, brands or intellectual property.
AI outputs may resemble other outputs and are not guaranteed to be original, exclusive, patentable or free of third-party rights. No license to publish private user content, train models or perform unrelated research is granted merely through account use.
4. Acceptable use and confidential material
Do not use ThinQa for unlawful activity, weapons development, infrastructure abuse, unauthorized access, infringement or attempts to extract protected provider model weights. Do not submit credentials, identity documents, health records, special-nature personal data or confidential designs without an approved basis and authority to disclose them to relevant providers.
Respect other users’ privacy and third-party intellectual property. Public sharing is a deliberate publication action: anyone with the link may view and copy the shared content. You are responsible for checking the material before publication. Turning sharing off cannot retrieve copies already obtained or invalidate independently shared file links.
5. AI, fabrication and engineering limits
Reports, images and geometry are generated using AI and automated processing. They may contain factual, scientific, mathematical, dimensional or geometric errors. Independently check sources, units, tolerances, material choices, printability, structural performance and legal requirements before relying on an output.
ThinQa does not certify engineering designs or provide regulated medical, legal or other professional advice. Critical applications require qualified professional assessment. Generation times, availability and successful output are not guaranteed; do not treat a queued job as a promise of delivery by a particular time.
6. Credits, jobs and support
The interface displays the credits and requirements applicable to an action. Current account credits are platform usage allowances; they are not cash, transferable funds or a promise of future service. A free credit allocation does not create a paid subscription.
A failed or delayed job may require retry or support review. Contact hello@thin.qa with the job reference to request investigation or a credit adjustment. Any paid offering will specify its pricing, taxes, cancellation and refund terms before purchase. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
7. Privacy, communications and account closure
The linked Privacy Policy explains collection, providers, international processing, retention, rights and deletion. You can reject optional analytics and promotional mail without losing essential services. Requested reports and necessary security/account messages are separate.
You may stop using the service or request deletion through account settings or hello@thin.qa. Deletion is a tracked process across providers and backups, not an instant guarantee that every copy is erased. Public sharing and optional processing are disabled when a deletion request is recorded; any required retention must be justified.
We may restrict an account to protect users, investigate abuse, comply with law or maintain the service. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact support. Suspension does not extinguish applicable privacy or consumer rights.
8. Availability, liability and disputes
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or that outputs will meet a particular purpose. These terms do not exclude liability, remedies or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar, subject to any mandatory protections that apply. Please first send a complaint to hello@thin.qa so we can investigate. Unresolved disputes may be brought before the competent courts, subject to applicable law.
9. Changes and contact
We identify policy changes by version and date and request renewed acceptance for material terms changes. A new processing purpose requiring consent needs its own choice; continued use is not a substitute. Arabic and English text are intended to have the same meaning; please report discrepancies.
Questions, access requests, complaints and deletion requests: hello@thin.qa. Questions and claims relating to this service should be directed to the project team, not presented as obligations accepted by HBKU or QEERI under these terms.
